[September 27, 2008]  MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Brewers pitcher Ben Sheets will start Saturday against the Cubs despite a sore elbow that forced him to leave his last appearance on Sept. 17 against Chicago.

InsuranceSheets says he's ready to pitch and he feels like his arm is ready to let him return to the mound. Sheets called that the deciding factor.

Interim manager Dale Sveum had said it would take a "small miracle" for Sheets to return, but had remained optimistic as the Brewers try to make the postseason for the first time in 26 years.

Sheets threw only about 20 pitches in the bullpen on Thursday, but feels good enough to test the arm in what could be his final start before free agency.
