[April 02, 2009]  JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) -- Police said a tow truck driver snatched a car he saw sitting along a highway and sold it to someone else. The owner of the car ran out of gasoline while driving on Interstate 26 in November and returned to find his vehicle gone.

The Johnson City Press reported police found it Monday in a restaurant parking lot. A man was sitting in the car and told police he bought it from another man, who police said towed it unlawfully.

Officers charged each man with theft over $1,000 and took them to jail.
