Agriculture, livestock futures advance on the CBOT

[April 04, 2009]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures rose Friday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for May delivery jumped 13 cents to $5.635 a bushel; May corn gained 2 cents to $4.045 a bushel; May oats rose 1.5 cents to $1.99 a bushel; and May soybeans advanced 18.5 cents to $9.955 a bushel.

Beef and pork futures also traded higher on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

June live cattle rose 1.17 cents to 84.17 cents a pound; May feeder cattle edged up 1.05 cents to 96.7 cents a pound; June lean hogs rose 1.55 cents to 73.65 cents a pound; and May pork bellies gained 1.02 cents to 88.82 cents a pound.
