[April 04, 2009]  At its meeting on Tuesday, the Logan County Insurance and Legislative Committee will consider an ordinance regulating on-site wastewater disposal in the county. The meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. in the county board room of the Logan County Courthouse.

DonutsThe new ordinance would solidify several policies that have already been enforced within the county and would establish legal authority to oversee inspections of existing private sewage disposal systems. It also would create a registration system for contractors to perform work in the county and would establish maintenance schedules and additional restriction for surface discharging systems.

The ordinance was approved by the Logan County Board of Health last October. If approved by the Insurance and Legislative Committee, it will be presented to the Logan County Board for final approval.
