[April 07, 2009]  Former athletes of Lincoln College will have an opportunity to visit with their coaches and actually play on their former home court during the annual LC Alumni Reunion Weekend, which kicks off on April 24.

The alumni celebration starts with a wine and cheese reception, featuring Willett's Winery and Cellar of Manito, from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. in the McKinstry Memorial Library. The cost is $10 per person. During the reception, guests will have access to the annual Lincoln student art exhibit in the Layman Art Gallery and to the Lincoln Heritage Museum. Immediately following the reception, alumni and guests are invited to the library lecture hall to listen and laugh as the Lincoln College improvisational team and African percussion ensemble provide a special performance.

Community members, students, faculty and alumni are invited to the fourth annual Run, Ramble and Roll, a 5K run and noncompetitive one-mile walk, which starts promptly at 9:30 a.m. April 25. Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Meyer-Evans Student Center, and the cost is $25 per person or $50 for a family of four. Each participant will receive a T-shirt and a post-race brunch served in the college cafeteria. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Lincoln College scholarship fund.

The Athletic Department, along with Alumni Relations, will host a meet and greet with current and former Lynx coaches from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Alumni Room of the Meyer-Evans Student Center. Former Lynx athletic director and head baseball coach Chuck Lindstrom will be on hand to reminisce with former players. He will also receive an award later at the alumni dinner.

Former Lynx athletes will have the chance to relive some memories as they play on the floor of the Davidson-Sheffer Gymnasium. Volleyball will take the floor at 1 p.m., followed by women's basketball at 2 and ending with a men's basketball game at 3 p.m. The cost to play in the alumni games is $5 and includes a T-shirt. The same T-shirt is available to non-players to purchase for $10.
