The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens, regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and trips. For more information, call 732-6132 or 732-5844.

InsuranceOasis potluck and bingo

Join us at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 9, for the monthly potluck, featuring meatloaf, salads, special dishes and wonderful desserts. There is no charge for food or beverage provided at this event. If you do not bring a dish to pass and wish to make a donation, the suggested amount is $3. Stay for bingo games sponsored by Christian Village.

Book club

The book club at the senior center will meet on Monday, April 13, beginning at 1 p.m. Refreshments provided.

Tuesday's lunch

The 11:30 a.m. lunch for April 14 will feature taco casserole, tortilla chips, salad and dessert for a suggested donation of $3.75. If you stay to play cards, the cost is $3.25. The reservation deadline is Monday noon.

AARP safe driving class

A driver safety program will be offered for seniors 55 and older. The class will be April 15 and 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. both days. The fee for the class is $14. If you are interested, call 732-6132 to register.

Card winners

The winners for weekday pinochle were Linda Hughes and Juanita Frostell. The weekend winners were Irene Tumilty and Harold Goodman. The five-in-one winner was Bernie DePuy. Congratulations.
