[April 10, 2009]  University of Illinois Extension in Logan County is offering a training program for day care providers on April 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. "Activities Designed for Families" will be presented by Judy Schmidt, youth development educator from the East Peoria Extension Center.

This program will help day care providers learn how to respond to character and behavior issues at a moment's notice. People who attend the training will learn how to use activities designed for families and "teachable moments" and encourage their day care families to do the same.

Day care providers in attendance will receive two hours of continuing education credit for licensing requirements.

The cost of the program is $10. To register, contact the Logan County Extension office at 732-8289 for a registration form. The deadline for registration is April 15.
