Dr. Mark Mangano and several Lincoln Christian College students assisted the Lincoln Area YMCA as part of LCC's "Week of Evangelism" mission experience April 6-9. The group of students helped YMCA staff members at the before-school, after-school and special Fun Day programs. The college students also assisted the YMCA with various painting and cleaning projects, as well as several other special work-detail projects. Lincoln Area YMCA thanks Mangano and his group of students for a job well done.

YMCA Volleyball Clinic begins April 28 and continues through June 2. Classes are on Tuesdays at the Y Activity Center gym, 719 Wyatt Ave. The times are 5:30-6:15 p.m. for first- to third-graders and 6:30-7:30 p.m. for fourth- to sixth-graders. The program fee increases $10 after April 14.

Lincoln Area YMCA had its first 3D Archery Shoot on April 4. The Y archers shot at turkey, dear, pig and bear decoys with their bows, and boy, did they have fun! The kids scored on how well they shot and where they shot. They had a great time walking through the timber and really getting the feel for hunting. The big winner was James Daniels. Way to go, James! However, all went home with trophies for their participation. Thanks to Miller Farm for hosting the 3D shoot and to Dave Duvall for volunteering to teach this great program! We hope this is an even bigger and better success in the fall. We are so proud of our archers. Way to go, kids!

YMCA Summer Day Camp registration began April 8 and continues through May 6 at special discounted rates. Weekly and daily rates increase after May 6. Camps offered are Kid Camp for kindergarten to third-grade children, Preteen Camp for fourth- to sixth-grader children and Counselor In Training Camp for seventh- to ninth-grade children. All day camps begin June 4. Visit www.lincolnymnca.org for more details about this summer-long fun camp experience.
