[April 11, 2009]  The Marine Corps League announces that the district commandant of the 4th District, Illinois Department, Central Division, will conduct a meeting on April 19 at 3 p.m. at the Lincoln Veterans of Foreign Wars post to form a new detachment here in Lincoln. Any Marine interested in joining this new detachment as a charter member should plan to attend this meeting.

RestaurantThe Marine Corps League, organized in June 1923 and chartered by an act of Congress in August 1937, was one of the earliest organizations established for veterans. Membership in the Marine Corps League is for any Marine or Fleet Marine Forces corpsman who has served honorably or is currently on active duty.
