There will be music, presentations, awards and
a delicious buffet meal. The evening will be a celebration of
tourism and the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial, together with Logan
County.
Jim Shay and his wife, Carole, will be on hand
to give a PowerPoint presentation showcasing their
collection of the many faces of Abraham Lincoln. Since moving to
Springfield some 40 years ago, they have acquired and organized
images of Abe and share their collection with others. They have
rummaged through countless antique malls and shops, purchased from
fellow collectors, and sat in on countless estate auctions to find
pieces for their collection. This collection has been the
subject of newspaper articles and been shared with others at the
Springfield Art Association, Elderhostel and with numerous civic
groups.
