Paul Schaub Sr.

[April 09, 2009]  Paul Edward Schaub Sr., 81, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at home with his family.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday at Holland Barry and Bennett Funeral Home. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Larry Crawford officiating.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.

Mr. Schaub was employed for Ball-Foster Glass Container Co. for 38 years.

He was born July 17, 1927, at Burton View to Louis Edward Schaub and Martha Britten. He married Bertha Eleanor "Buffey" McCarthy on Oct. 31, 1954, in Chicago.

He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; four sons, Paul Edward Schaub Jr. (and wife Denise), Jeffery Guy Schaub (and Marcia), Richard Neal Schaub (and Elaine), and Steven Troy Schaub (and Judy), all of Lincoln; one daughter, Sandra Elaine Haynes (and Daryl) of Cornland; one brother, Riley Louis Schaub (and Lillian) of Aroura, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a half brother, Earl (and Betty) Emmons, and two daughters-in-law, Judy Schaub and Glenna Schaub.

Funeral Directors

He was a member of Glass Bottle Blowers Local 117.

He enjoyed collecting aluminum cans and was affectionately known as "the can man."

Memorial donations may be made to the Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society or Special Olympics and will be accepted at the funeral home.
