Agriculture futures trade mixed on the CBOT

[April 17, 2009]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures were mixed Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for May delivery jumped 9.5 cents to $5.2475 a bushel; May corn rose 1.25 cents to $3.8575 a bushel; May oats fell 3.5 cents to $1.865 a bushel; and May soybeans surged 23.5 cents to $10.585 a bushel.

Beef and pork futures also traded mixed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

June live cattle rose 0.35 cent to 85.12 cents a pound; May feeder cattle lost 0.75 cent to 99.17 cents a pound; June lean hogs inched up 0.22 cent to 73.27 cents a pound; and May pork bellies fell 0.28 cent to 86.52 cents a pound.
