Ousted Ill. governor headed back to court

[April 21, 2009]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Ousted Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich is headed back to federal court.

The hearing Tuesday comes one week after he let it be known that he wants permission to go to Costa Rica to take part in a reality TV show in the jungle.

A more pressing matter is how much of the Blagojevich campaign fund that U.S. District Judge James B. Zagel will approve for paying the ex-governor's lawyers.

Blagojevich is charged with scheming to sell or trade President Obama's old U.S. Senate seat and plotting to use the muscle of the governor's office to pressure companies for campaign contributions.

His legal team is still in flux and a lack of money appears to be the main obstacle for getting it firmed up.
