[April 22, 2009]  TUSCOLA (AP) -- Illinois State Police seized $2.7 million that a drug-sniffing dog found in a van on a rural Illinois interstate.

Sgt. William Emery says the two men inside the van were not arrested or charged with a crime. The driver received a warning for speeding after being stopped last week on Interstate 57 in Tuscola in east-central Illinois.

Emery didn't identify the men, but said they were from Dallas.

He says the trooper used the drug-sniffing dog because the two men acted nervous. The money was sealed in plastic bags that were tucked into boxes in the cargo area.

The men will get back the money if an investigation clears them of any wrongdoing.
