Wheat, corn, soybeans futures gain on Chicago BOT

[April 24, 2009]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures opened mostly higher Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for July delivery jumped 12 cents to $5.40 a bushel, while July corn added 5 cents to $3.875 a bushel and July soybeans climbed 14.5 cents to $10.535 a bushel. Oats for May delivery were unchanged at $1.8225 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef futures rose and pork futures dropped on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

June live cattle traded up 0.65 cent to 83.8 cents a pound, while May feeder cattle gained 0.2 cent to 99.6 cents a pound. June lean hogs shed 0.82 cent to 71.55 cents a pound, and May pork bellies tumbled 1.1 cents to 81.5 cents a pound.
