[April 27, 2009]  Lincoln Junior High School will present "Divine Stella Devine" on Friday and Saturday in the Lincoln Junior High School gymnasium, 208 Broadway St. The performances begin at 7 each night.

Pictured above are Kaleb Bottrell, as the director of the Ritz Theatre Company, and Maggie Cusey, playing Marilyn Monet, in a scene from "Divine Stella Devine."

In the play, Stella Devine is the aging star of the popular Ritz Theatre. She and her fellow company performers are preparing for the epic play "Civil War Darlings," written by the theater's acclaimed playwright, Nicole, who has written starring roles for Stella for 20 years. Ginger, a young Southern girl, visits a rehearsal to watch her favorite star up close. No one realizes Ginger is really there to steal Stella's role away from her. Meanwhile, Billy, a newspaper reporter, comes to write on Stella, finds out about Ginger's evil ploy and sets out to uncover her scheme. Throw in a pair of twins, a dim-witted beauty, a stage mother and an aging actor who believes he really is fighting the Civil War, and you have a fun, delightful comedy.

Tickets are $5 and are available from cast members or at the door.
