[March 19, 2010]  DECATUR -- The Lincoln Public Library District and Rolling Prairie Library System are partnering with Ameren Illinois Utilities in Ameren's WATT Solutions program.

Ameren has donated WATT Solutions kits with Kill A Watt EZ power meters to Rolling Prairie Library System and other the downstate library systems, and the meters have been distributed to RPLS public library members. This partnership will allow library patrons to borrow WATT Solutions kits through their local libraries at no cost.

"Using the Kill A Watt EZ power use measuring device, our WATT Solutions initiative shows you how much it costs to operate electrical appliances and devices," said Stan Ogden, vice president of customer service and public relations for Ameren Illinois Utilities. "You also can learn how much it costs to leave appliances and devices on, such as computers, printers and modems."

WATT Solutions is part of the Ameren Illinois Utilities Act On Energy initiative (ActOnEnergy.com), which is helping Ameren's residential and business customers save money by using energy more efficiently.

"Rolling Prairie Library System is delighted to partner with Ameren in the WATT Solutions initiative to make this an easy-to-use tool readily available to the general public," said Beverly Obert, executive director of the Rolling Prairie Library System.

If you are interested in checking out a Kill A Watt EZ power meter, it is available at the Lincoln Public Library.
