[August 03, 2009]  GILMER, Texas (AP) -- Three people were injured when an SUV crashed into a church in eastern Texas just as the service was about to start.

Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Kenneth Nolley told the Tyler Courier Times Telegraph that the SUV crashed into the auditorium of the Zion Hill Baptist Church in Gilmer on Sunday morning. Nolley said the driver indicated she accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake.

Nolley said the driver would not be cited because the accident happened on private property.

The driver was not injured. However, three other people, including two children, were taken to hospitals. All were treated and released.
