[August 03, 2009]  According to Recalls.org, a nonprofit organization, the following recalls were issued by various federal and state agencies during the week ending Aug. 1: 

BOUNCER CHAIRS 

BabySwede LLC is recalling BabyBjörn® Babysitter Balance and BabyBjörn® Babysitter Balance Air bouncer chairs sold nationwide from September 2008 to July 2009. Small, sharp metal objects found in the padded area of the bouncer chair can protrude, posing a laceration hazard. 

The recall involves the BabyBjörn's Babysitter Balance and Babysitter Balance Air bouncers. These bouncing chairs for babies have a red safety latch on the height adjustment mechanism and a plastic footrest with the BabyBjörn® logo.  A list of the models and colors can be found at www.recalls.org

FUEL CONTAINERS 

Blitz USA Inc. is recalling Enviro-Flo Plus Fuel Containers (1 and 2 gallon container sizes) sold nationwide from June 2009 to July 2009. The spout's plunger cap can dislodge which can open the seal of the fuel container and allow gasoline vapors to escape. This could cause liquid gasoline to spill from the top of the container during use and result in a fire hazard. 

The recall involves green Enviro-Flo Plus spouts used with 1 and 2 gallon fuel containers. Only spouts with manufacture date codes listed from 04/17/2009 through 04/19/2009 are included in the recall. The manufacture date code is etched into the side of the spout. The spouts were used on fuel containers with item numbers 81005 (1 gallon) and 81010 (2 gallon) printed on the labels. Date codes can be found at www.recalls.org.

CLOTHES WASHERS 

Frigidaire is recalling Crosley®, Frigidaire®, Kelvinator®, Kenmore®, Wascomat®, and White-Westinghouse® clothes washers sold nationwide from February 2009 to May 2009. An internal defect in the washer's drain pump can cause heat to build up, posing a fire hazard. 

This recall involves the Crosley®, Frigidaire®, Kelvinator®, Kenmore®, Wascomat®, and White-Westinghouse® top load washers, 3.1 cubic foot front load washers and laundry centers. A complete list of the recalled washers can be found at www.recalls.org.

EDGE SCRAPERS 

Sherwin-Williams Co. is recalling Purdy 2 ½" 4-Edge Scrapers sold nationwide from February 2009 to June 2009. The recalled scraper's body can break away from the handle when struck against a hard object. This poses a laceration hazard. 

The recalled scraper is a 2 ½" wide steel tool with a four-sided edge. The handle has a soft black grip with "Purdy" printed in red letters on the side of the handle. 

Consumers should the scraper to any Sherwin-Williams store or the place of purchase for a free replacement.

BOYS' SWEATSHIRTS 

Burlington Coat Factory is recalling Boys Hooded Sweatshirts and Warm Up Sets sold at Burlington Coat Factory stores nationwide from September 2008 to June 2009. The sweatshirts and jackets to the warm up sets have drawstrings through the hoods, posing a strangulation hazard. 

This recall involves boy's hooded sweatshirt Style No. 3650-B in colors black, brown, charcoal, heather gray and navy; and faux suede warm up sets Style No. B9560ST in colors black, brown and khaki. Both the sweatshirts and warm up sets have the style numbers and the name KOMAN printed on the hangtag on the center back neck, with sizes S, M, L, or XL . 

Consumers should remove the drawstrings from the sweatshirts and jackets to eliminate the hazard, or return the garment to any Burlington Coat Factory store for a refund or credit.

BED STEPS 

Domestications is recalling Bed Steps sold by Domestications from June 2008 to November 2008. The bed steps can break during use, posing a fall hazard. 

The recalled wooden bed steps with style numbers 17593A and 17878A have two steps and are 16 inches high by 24 inches wide and 18 inches deep. They were sold in white, cherry and oak. 

Consumers should return the bed steps to Domestications to receive a refund.

SWING SETS 

Little Tikes is recalling Little Tikes Clubhouse Swing Set sold nationwide from October 2008 to March 2009. The recalled swing sets did not come with assembly directions for the swing seat harness. The swing seat harness assembly needs to be completed by the consumer. The swing seats can detach if the harness is not assembled properly, which could result in fall and injury during use. 

The Little Tikes Clubhouse Swing Set is a plastic molded product that features a climbing wall, rope ladder, slide and two swings with blue and yellow seats. Only the blue seat model is being recalled. The model numbers are 400V and 612398.

BASS AMPLIFIERS 

Fender Musical Instruments is recalling SWR® Natural Blonde™ Acoustic Bass Amplifiers sold nationwide from April 2007 to May 2009. The recalled amplifier's wiring can overheat, posing a fire hazard. 

The recall involves the SWR® Natural Blonde™ 120V acoustic bass amplifier, model 44-60600-000. The amplifier measures about 26 inches x 16 inches x15 inches, and has a blonde-textured vinyl covering with a black control plate and black stamped steel vibration-free grill. The model number is located on the top rear panel of the amplifier. "SWR" and "Natural Blonde" are printed on the front of the amplifier.
