Ag futures mostly down, livestock prices tilt up

[August 06, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures were mostly lower Wednesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for September delivery slid 13.5 cents to $5.2875 a bushel, September corn lost 7.5 cents to $3.47 a bushel and December oats shed 1 cent to $2.24. Soybeans for November delivery gained 13.5 cents to $10.45 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef and pork futures were mostly higher on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

October live cattle gained 0.10 cent to 89.82 cents a pound, and September feeder cattle rose 0.58 cent to $1.0115 a pound. October lean hogs traded up 0.08 cent to 50.20 cents a pound, but August pork bellies tumbled 2 cents to 57.75 cents a pound.
