Agriculture futures trade mixed on the CBOT

[August 12, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures were mixed Tuesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for September delivery dropped 9 cents to $4.8525 a bushel, while September corn gained 2.25 cents to $3.265 a bushel and November soybeans surged 28.5 cents to $10.385 a bushel. Oats for December delivery rose 4.5 cents to $2.125 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef and pork futures traded lower on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

October live cattle fell 0.65 cent to 87.67 cents a pound; September feeder cattle lost 0.33 cent to 99.97 cents a pound; October lean hogs edged down 0.65 cent to 44.35 cents a pound; and August pork bellies dropped 3 cents to 45.75 cents a pound.
