Some see divine sign in cow born at Conn. dairy
[December 09, 2009] STERLING, Conn. (AP) -- A holy cow perhaps? Or maybe a divine bovine?

A calf born at a dairy farm in Sterling last week has a white marking on its forehead in the approximate shape of a cross. The calf's owner, Brad Davis, told WFSB-TV that he thinks the marking may be a message from above, though he's still trying to figure out what that message might be. The mostly brown calf is half Jersey, half Holstein. Neighborhood children named it Moses. Ric Grummer, chairman of the Department of Dairy Science at the University of Wisconsin, told the Norwich Bulletin that it was not unusual for Holstein cows to have white markings on the head. But he said the cross shape is unique. |
