Bone-chilling temps hit area

[December 10, 2009]  Ten is a great number if you are rolling a bowling ball at a set of pins. But if it is the outside temperature, it can be dangerous. Couple that with moderate winds and the National Weather Service reports a minus 2 wind chill factor this morning throughout central Illinois.

RestaurantThe coldest part of the front is expected to traverse through the area today, with the five-day forecast showing temperatures gaining ground back into the upper 20s and lower 30s.

The NWS advises caution when weather patterns this cold are prevalent and offers safe driving and cold weather tips for travel and at home or office at http://www.crh.noaa.gov/ilx/?n=winter.
