[December 18, 2009]  It is with sincere appreciation that Angela Stoltzenburg, executive director of Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois, wanted to thank the Elks Charitable Trust Fund, which recently gave a generous donation to the senior programs at Community Action.

Stoltzenburg said:

"Community Action provides thousands of meals and rides each year to seniors. While we have partial funding from the Area Agency on Aging for Lincolnland and are fortunate to receive Logan County senior tax moneys, we are challenged each year to meet the financial demands of the program. Contributions like the one from the Elks Charitable Trust Fund make it possible for us to continue these services.

"Transportation services provide access to medical appointments and improve the quality of life for seniors living right here in our community. Oftentimes, the volunteers and staff who deliver meals to seniors are their only visitors. These programs truly make a difference.

"As Community Action celebrates the holiday season this year, we are thankful for the generosity of those who support our work in serving those in need. Thank you again to the Elks Charitable Trust Fund."
