Julie Burr, general manager of the Hampton Inn, submitted the nomination letter, including specific examples provided by guests that captured her hospitable spirit. "We are thankful for the outstanding example Carol sets for everyone at the hotel," said Burr. "She truly displays the Spirit of Hampton!"

Carol Boss is a Lincoln native, graduated from Lincoln High School and continued her education at Midstate College with a diploma in airline/travel careers. After being in the airline travel industry for 24 years, as well as previous hotel experience, she started at the Lincoln Hampton Inn in April of 2008, helping to open the brand-new property. Starting as a breakfast host and laundry attendant, she was promoted to front desk manager in August of 2009.

The Lincoln Hampton Inn hosted a surprise lunch for her on Friday, during which she received a call from the Hampton corporate office to congratulate her on her award. She will receive a cash prize, CD player, recognition in brand communication and a plaque.
