[December 24, 2009]  The Lincoln Parents' Center would like to invite you to Play & Learn, a free playgroup that is offered the first three Fridays of the month from 9:30 to 11, with a parents' group following till 11:30. It is held in the downstairs preschool classroom at the YMCA building on Wyatt Street. Age-appropriate parent-child activities, a snack and group time are offered during each Play & Learn session. Come and join us at Play & Learn for a fun experience with your child!


Lincoln Youth Wrestlers competed in the Clinton Challenge on Sunday, Dec. 20, in Clinton.

In the 6 & under division, Cade Tanner was first, Austin O'Donoghue second, and Kia Carvalho and Tony Gandolfi took fourth.

7 & 8 division: Tyler Werth was second, Collin Cogdill and Roux Starr third, and Nolan Yates fourth.

9 & 10 division: Austin Dennison, Issac Dueringer and Jarrett Poole all took second, Michael O'Donoghue was third, and Alexander Bergin fourth.

11 & 12 division: William Bergin was fourth.

Lincoln Youth Wrestling will travel to Fairbury on Jan. 2 to compete in the Hawk Challenge at Prairie Central High School.


YMCA Girls Basketball is an instructional program designed to introduce girls in first through sixth grade to the techniques and game of basketball. Practices are once a week and games are on Sundays. Registration fees will increase starting Dec. 24-30. Register today to join this exciting program.

Christmas festivities at Carroll Catholic School play right through lunch. Students this week were entertained with Christmas music from Mrs. Freesmeier's piano students donned in Santa hats. Pictured are three Huynh sisters playing a trio, "Joy to the World."
