Lincoln Police Department reports for Wednesday, Dec. 30 Crash
at Woodlawn and Heitmann Drive Dec. 23 sends two to the hospital.

A witness in a third vehicle reported that he saw Simmer pull
into the intersection of Woodlawn and Heitmann Drive, preparing to
make a left turn and head east on Woodlawn. The witness said that
Simmer did have a green turn light. Winterbauer drove into the
intersection, striking Simmer.
Both Winterbauer and Simmer were transported to St. John's
Hospital in Springfield by Logan County Paramedics.
Winterbauer was charged with failure to wear a safety belt and
operating an uninsured vehicle. Additional charges are pending.
Crash Dec. 24 involves two vehicles at intersection of 11th
Street and North Union.

Darla J. Franklin, 59-year-old female,
Lincoln; 1998 Dodge Caravan
Franklin was traveling south on North Union, and driver one was
traveling east on 11th Street. Driver one stopped for the stop sign
at North Union, then entered the intersection and was struck by
Franklin. Driver one, who said she did not see Franklin coming, was
ticketed for failure to yield at an intersection.
Crash Dec. 26 involves three vehicles at the intersection of
Sixth and South Madison.

According to a witness, Figueroa was traveling west on Sixth Street
into the intersection while Hopp was traveling south on South
Madison into the intersection. The witness reported that Hopp was
driving recklessly prior to entering the intersection. Hopp was
pulling a flatbed trailer that was reported to be fishtailing on the
snow-covered road. Both vehicles entered the intersection at
approximately the same time and Figueroa struck the trailer pulled
by Hopp, shoving it into the parked vehicle owned by Galvin. This
intersection is not controlled by a stop sign or signal.
Figueroa said she did not see Hopp coming. Hopp said he had
accelerated and turned his vehicle in the roadway to see if his
cargo, a refrigerator, was still on the trailer.
Figueroa was ticketed with failure to yield at an intersection,
and Hopp was charged with reckless driving.

Dec. 30 at the intersection of Peoria and Sherman; Class A --
obstruction of justice, plus driving while license revoked
