When mall security chased him, the man drove away in a Ford Escape used by mall security.

HardwareHowever, police said the man ditched the SUV and ran back into Macy's, where he was found hiding under a pile of towels in the linens department's storage room.

The man was charged with burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, two counts of shoplifting, trespass and drug charges.

The man held at the Howard Young Correctional Institute in lieu of $6,100 bond. He was also ordered not to return to the mall.
