Severe weather possible after midnight

Send a link to a friend

[February 10, 2009]  A strong springlike storm system will move into the area late Tuesday night and Wednesday. Severe thunderstorms will be possible after midnight tonight through noon on Wednesday, with isolated tornadoes and wind damage the main threats. In addition, locally heavy rainfall will be likely, which may cause rising of area rivers and streams.

Most of the precipitation will be east of the area by sunset Wednesday, but windy conditions will continue through the night.

Relatively quiet weather will then prevail Thursday and Friday until the next storm arrives Friday night. This system will have more cold air with it, so both rain and snow will be possible Friday night into Saturday.
