The program will include an informational ag update from John
Hartman of Farm Credit Services, entertainment by comedian Steve
Caminiti and the awarding of ag scholarships. During the past
decade, $41,000 has been awarded in scholarships to high school
seniors and college freshman pursing an education in the
agriculture-related fields.
"The chamber's ag committee feels that the key to the future of
agriculture in Logan County is to invest in these students," said
Michael Turner, ag committee chairman.
The event is hosted by the chamber's ag committee and made
possible by local business sponsors.
The breakfast will be prepared by Guzzardo's Catering.
Anyone interested in attending may make reservations by calling
217-735-2385.
The annual breakfast directly reflects the mission of the
chamber's ag committee to enhance the Logan County economy by
strengthening ag and business relationships, exploring and
implementing value-added opportunities, developing and marketing
agricultural tourism attractions, and encouraging natural resource
management. The breakfast is an important part of the mission of the
chamber to serve the membership through a commitment to the economic
prosperity of Lincoln and Logan County.
