[February 19, 2009]  ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) -- Officials at the Lehigh Valley Zoo turned to some high-tech equipment to find out what was causing a kangaroo to feel a little down in the mouth.

Hardware Veterinarians using a CT scan Tuesday night at AnimalScan in Easton found an abscessed tooth in the right lower jaw of Sybil, a 13-year-old red kangaroo.

Doctors gave Sybil pain medication and antibiotics and said the next step would be to schedule oral surgery.

The kangaroo has already lost several teeth over the years.

The veterinarians say most of the animals they treat are dogs and cats but they do get some exotic cases.
