LCHS speech team has 3 place in state

[February 23, 2009]  BELLEVILLE -- This season's state speech tournament took place at Belleville West High School on Saturday. In total, 91 schools competed for a place in the final round of their events. Most of the 13 events, plus performance in the round, have only six slots available for competitors to advance to the final round and vie for first place. Lincoln Community High School advanced three events and three students to the state tournament, as follows:

  • Cody Follis and Kaylyn Engelhardt in dramatic duet acting

  • Kaylyn Engelhardt and Todd Schumacher in humorous duet acting

  • Todd Schumacher in special occasion speaking

At the state tournament, LCHS advanced two events into the final round and achieved the following:

  • Cody Follis and Kaylyn Engelhardt received third place in dramatic duet acting.

  • Todd Schumacher received sixth place in special occasion speaking.

Congrats to Cody Follis, Kaylyn Engelhardt and Todd Schumacher for their success at state and throughout their senior year!
