Stoppers and Humane Society hit the Close Up

With
the Digital Photography Class starting this Thursday, Feb 26
at 7:00 pm, there are only a few more days left to register at the
park district. This hands on course is taught by Steve Klemm, owner
of Picture This Photography Studio. Steve has created a brand new
format for teaching this session. He has purchased a $169.00 over
the counter digital camera and the lesson plans have been based on
this camera. Please bring your digital camera to class so Steve can
answer questions pertaining to your camera. Featured will be
printing, setting up software, making corrections and a host of fun
projects that will make your hobby more interesting. For more

The
Lincoln Mission Mart will host an Early Bird and Night Owl
Sale this Friday, February 27th. Shoppers can save 50% off their
entire purchase from 7:00-9:00 a.m. and from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Regular
store hours are from 9:00-6:00 p.m. Store shelves will be specially
stocked throughout the day for the event.
100% of the net proceeds from the event benefit the people served
by Home Sweet Home Ministries in Bloomington, IL.

Mayor Beth Davis-Kavelman visited the Zion Lutheran School
7th-8th grade classroom last week. The students are currently
studying the U.S. and Illinois constitutions, and state and local
government. Mayor Davis-Kavelman gave a very informative
presentation on her duties as mayor and interacted with the students
while answering their questions. She also presented the school with
a hand-drawn print of Abraham Lincoln and a copy of the 2003 Lincoln
Sesquicentennial booklet.

Lincoln-Logan
Crime Stoppers Board announces that they are now accepting
applications for their 2009 Scholarship. The scholarship is
available to a Logan County resident who is either a high school
senior or a current college student who is pursuing a Degree in the
Law Enforcement field.
Applications are available at Logan County High Schools, Logan
County Regional Office of Education, Lincoln College, Heartland
College.
