Lincoln Police Department reports for Thursday, Feb. 26
Accident Feb. 23 at 7:45 a.m.; Route 121, 159 feet east of Limit
Street
--Randal L. Mileham, male, 18, of Mount Pulaski; 1991 GM Suburban
--Chantel M. Banks, female, 19, of Decatur; 2003 Mitsubishi
Eclipse
Banks was westbound on Limit Street, approaching the Limit Street
curve. A witness was also westbound behind Banks. Mileham was
eastbound on Limit Street approaching the Limit Street curve.
Mileham said that his windshield was obstructed by frost and the sun
was glaring off the windshield. He said he saw the witness, but he
did not see Banks. Mileham attempted to turn left into the Farm
Services parking lot and struck the driver’s side of Banks’ vehicle.
The witness stated that he observed Mileham turn into Banks. The
impact caused Banks to spin off the north side of the roadway. Banks
was transported to St. John’s Hospital. Mileham was ticketed.
