Pipe Organ Concert.

[February 26, 2009]-First, the Lincoln First Presbyterian church will introduce to the public its recently rebuilt Gratian Classical Pipe Organ. Second, at the controls of the Gratian Organ will be acclaimed virtuoso Nichol DelGiorno, playing her first performance in Lincoln, Illinois. DelGiorno will offer a special concert designed to demonstrate the capacities of the newly rebuilt organ.

A product of the Haarlem Organ Academy in the Netherlands, DelGiorno is a candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Illinois. She has played before audiences in several states and currently serves as the sub-dean for the Springfield chapter of the American Guild of Organists. DelGiorno advises the Springfield Symphony orchestra and has studied with fabled organ master Rudolf Zuiderveld. She is college organist at MacMurray College and also serves as Director of Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Springfield.

The concert is completely free to the public and begins at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 12 at the First Presbyterian Church, 301 Pekin Street in Lincoln, IL.
