William 'Bill' Rademaker

[February 26, 2009]  MASON CITY -- William E. "Bill" Rademaker, 69, of Mason City, formerly of Emden, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at 5 p.m. at his home.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Curt McAllister officiating.

Burial, with military rites, will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery.

Mr. Rademaker was a farmer and was a seed salesman with Pioneer for 36 years.

He served in the U.S. National Guard.

He was born July 5, 1939, at Pekin to Earl and Laura Mae Detmers Rademaker. He married Penny McFarland on Dec. 3, 1961, in Bartonville, with the Rev. Raymond Krutz officiating.

He is survived by his wife, of Mason City; three daughters, Dawn Houchins of Emden, Darci Steck of Irvine, Calif., and Nikki (and Kent) Renken of Mason City; six grandchildren, Billy and Ray Houchins of Emden, Darian and Hannah Steck of Irvine, Calif., and Kole and Kase Renken of Mason City; and one sister, Bonnie (and Larry) Kirgan of Milan.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was of the Methodist faith.

He was a member of Farm Bureau, CCA Accreditations and Emden American Legion Post 506.

Memorials may be made to Hartsburg-Emden FFA or Mason County Ambulance Service.
