YMCA motto for 2009: 'We are Raising the Bar'

Send a link to a friend

[January 02, 2009]  The year 2009 is here and the YMCA has already begun raising the bar! Some great things in the works to help facilitate this new motto are a new website, three seasonal brochures, higher expectations of ourselves, plus many others.

InsuranceThe new site has already launched (www.lincolnymca.org)! One seasonal brochure has already been printed and delivered (next one in March). If you have any other suggestions on how to help "Raise the Bar," please feel free to call the YMCA at 217-735-3915.

Tie-Dye Art class will be on Jan. 19, 9:30-11 a.m., at the Y Activity Center, 719 Wyatt Ave. Learn color concepts and how to tie-dye a T-shirt. Please, children must bring a white T-shirt to class. Registration fees increase after Jan. 12, so sign up today!

Preschool P.E. class for preschoolers runs throughout the school year and meets from 11:15 to noon each Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Each day the children have a blast doing warmups, relays and playing "gym games." Participants are also taught character development, sportsmanship and how to "play nice." Register your preschooler today for this fun class!

For the third annual shotgun raffle to raise funding for the YMCA Youth Archery program, the Y will raffle off a Remington Spartan 12-gauge over and under. Volunteers will sell tickets for $5 each. You may also come to the Y office, 604 Broadway, or Duvall Automotive, 729 N. Chicago, to purchase tickets. Please purchase your tickets to support the future sportsmen (and women) of Logan County.
