[December 31, 2008]  Kenneth W. King, 70, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

His funeral will be at noon Monday, Jan. 5, at Holland Barry and Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until noon at the funeral home.

Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield.

Mr. King was a truck driver for many years.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was born Jan. 22, 1938, at Weldon to David and Ottie Calhoun King. He married Vicki Harris in 1984.

He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; one daughter, Jennifer Kirk of Lincoln; two sons, David King of Petersburg and Jim King of Mount Pulaski; two stepsons, Matt Kirk of Eddyville and Greg Kirk of Lincoln; one brother, Dale King of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, Fay Thomas of Decatur; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Edward; and one sister, Mary.
