[January 14, 2009]  Jefferson Street Christian Church's divorce recovery group will move its meetings to Tuesday evenings, beginning in February, in order to incorporate DivorceCare into the church's Lifeline ministry.

DivorceCare, a weekly seminar and support group for people who are separated or divorced, will be offered from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, beginning Feb. 3, at the church, at 1700 N. Jefferson St. in Lincoln.

Each of the 12 DivorceCare sessions will include a video on an issue related to divorce and recovery. Videos feature nationally recognized experts on topics such as coping with loneliness, depression and anger; financial survival; helping children cope with their parents' divorce; and new relationships. The video is followed by group discussion.

DivorceCare will meet weekly through April 21. Participants may join the group at any time during the 12-week series; preregistration is not required. Cost of the DivorceCare workbook is $12. Child care is available.

Jefferson Street Christian Church's Tuesday evening Lifeline ministry also includes GriefShare, for individuals who have experienced the death of a loved one, and Celebrate Recovery, for individuals seeking to overcome addictions. Call 217-732-9294 for more information about any of these groups.
