[January 17, 2009]  LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- A mother and daughter have been arrested in Lincoln on suspicion of working together to forge checks.

Police said officers arrested a 42-year-old woman earlier this month after identifying her as the person who passed eight of 20 bad checks - totaling nearly $8,000 - at area grocery stores.

Police said this week, the woman's 23-year-old daughter turned herself in. She is accused of passing all but one of the other 20 bad checks at the stores.

Police said the mother doctored and printed the checks from a home computer.
