Hobler excels at AAU event

[January 19, 2009]  In an AAU-sponsored indoor track meet at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington on Sunday, Hilary Hobler of Lincoln brought home three first-place finishes and one second-place finish in the Young Women's Division (17-19-year-olds).

Hobler also surpassed her 2008 IHSA Class AA state track meet performance in the long jump. She set a new personal record by jumping 18 feet, 2 1/4 inches (5.54 meters) while capturing first-place honors.

Hobler outran all competitors in her age division in the 55-meter dash in a time of 7.70 (fully automatic timing) and in the 200 meter in a time of 27.95 (FAT).

Hobler also finished second in the triple jump.
