[January 26, 2009]  Lincoln Park District is offering everyone in the community a free opportunity to experience aerobics, yoga and spin classes. The Fitness Fever event will be on Saturday, Jan. 31, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Come meet and greet all of our instructors and get a sampling of each of their classes. Our goal is to allow you to experience a 10-minute session and let you try as many classes as your schedule will let you. Bring your water bottle and your questions. We're looking forward to meeting you.

Now is a perfect time to join or renew your membership to the Sports Center. If you purchase a quarterly membership, we will add on one additional week. If you purchase an annual membership, you'll receive an additional month. Even if your membership doesn't expire for several months, we will renew your membership and extend it for the additional time.

Watch for February's Five Fit Friends program. Details will be announced through this column. Call us at 732-8770 if you have questions.

Back by popular demand, we offer our digital camera class. Once again, Stephen Klemm from Picture This Photography is our instructor. Steve has reformatted this class. A whole new, fresh approach will be brought to you through the eye of an inexpensive over-the-counter digital camera. Bring your camera to class and let Steve show you features you may not yet have discovered. He will discuss software, printer options and how to store your pictures, along with making corrections. This doesn't begin to list all the information that he will present. Sign up soon for our 7 p.m. Thursday classes, beginning Feb. 5. The hour-and-a-half class will run four weeks.
