Agriculture futures trade lower on the CBOT

[January 30, 2009]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures dropped Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for March delivery slid 17.25 cents to $5.78 a bushel, while March corn slipped 2.75 cents to $3.8175 a bushel. March oats traded down 2.5 cents to $2.115 a bushel, and March soybeans lost 12 cents to $9.705 a bushel.

Beef and pork futures mostly traded higher on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

April live cattle shed 0.10 cent to 84.32 cents a pound, but March feeder cattle added 0.05 cent to 90.62 cents a pound. February lean hogs gained 0.28 cent to 57 cents a pound, while February pork bellies climbed 1.9 cents to 80.40 cents a pound.
