Teen video contest
This summer teens can enter a contest by creating a DVD format
"commercial" to promote the Lincoln Public Library District. Up to
four teens may work on a video together. All finished videos must be
turned in no later than July 17 to be considered. Entry rules and
content requirements are available in the Youth Services Department
in the Annex building.
Teens! Win a Wii
In addition to the standard weekly drawings during the Teen
Summer Reading Program, teens can choose to also enter the special
drawing to win a Wii game system. Rules are available in the Youth
Services Department in the Annex building.

The Lincoln Public Library
is
located at 725 Pekin St., with adult nonfiction and
reference materials in the historic Carnegie building. In
the Annex building directly behind are adult fiction and the
Youth Services Department. All library events are free and

Services for the public Lincoln Public Library District has
many free services to offer. The public may use the button-making
machine, Elison die-cut machine, Kill A Watt EZ meter and overhead
projector. The library also offers wireless computer connectivity in
each building, three meeting rooms and public access computers to
search the Rolling Prairie Library System.
Miss Lou's blog
Louella Moreland, youth services librarian, has a blog that can
be found through
www.lincolnpubliclibrary.org. She will discuss new books,
introduce library programs, take polls and ask for your ideas.

Holiday closing
The Lincoln Public Library District will be closed July 4,
Independence Day.
Summer Reading Program
The Summer Reading Program will continue through July 25, which
is the last day to turn in and count a reading log. Keep reading to
reach your summer goal, and check the bulletin board to see how your
school is progressing toward its goal. The Thursday events this
month are Ronald McDonald on July 2, Silly Safari on July 9,
DePriest Puppets on July 16 and a petting zoo on July 23.

This year's Summer Reading Program will wrap up with an awards
program on July 30 at 10 a.m. T-shirt prizes will be distributed to
participants who have reached their reading goal. There will also be
awards for top readers in each age level and a drawing for prizes
for the preschool "readers." The teen program runs a slightly
shorter schedule and concludes on July 18. In addition to their
weekly drawing, teens will have a grand prize drawing on July 20.

Log on to

one-on-one help is available to kindergarten through adult learners
in math, science, English, social studies and writing. Use your
Lincoln Public Library card number to log in.
