Agriculture, livestock advance on the CBOT

[July 10, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures advanced Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

InsuranceWheat for September delivery jumped 5 cents to $5.2225 a bushel, while September corn gained 4.25 cents to $3.295 a bushel and September oats rose 2 cents to $2.115 a bushel. Soybeans for August delivery surged 32.5 cents to $10.475 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef and pork futures traded higher on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

August live cattle inched up 0.12 cent to 83.47 cents a pound; August feeder cattle rose 1.3 cents to $1.0295 a pound; August lean hogs climbed 2.68 cents to 63.7 cents a pound; and August pork bellies edged up 2 cents to 60 cents a pound.
