[July 11, 2009]  AFSCME Council 31 has begun to receive official notice of the planned layoffs that Gov. Quinn is forcing state agencies to implement. Quinn says he plans to lay off some 2,500 employees. Thus far AFSCME has received notification of approximately 600. All layoffs are scheduled for Sept. 30.

DonutsThe notices received by the union only include the numbers of layoffs by agency, title and county or facility. The union has not received the names of any employees targeted for layoff.

The listing shows proposed layoffs at Logan Correctional Center by position. They number six counselors, 11 lieutenants and 133 officers.
