[July 13, 2009]  The following recalls were issued by various federal and state agencies during the week ending July 11: 

DonutsPACIFIERS 

Gromex Inc. is recalling Jaloma Pacifiers sold in New Jersey and New York from February 2008 to March 2009. The pacifier mouth guard and the ventilation holes are too small and fail to meet federal safety standards. The pacifier could pose a choking and aspiration hazard. 

This pacifier has a ring-shaped handle and a round-shaped mouth guard with two ventilation holes. "Jaloma" is printed on the handle side of the mouth guard and the nipple has a gel-like liquid inside.

WOMEN'S SHOES

Charles David is recalling Women's Sample Shoes sold at Nordstrom stores in California and Nordstrom Rack stores nationwide from April 2009 to June 2009.  The heel of the recalled shoes can detach, posing a fall hazard. 

The recall involves various colors and styles of Charles by Charles David brand (item #SAMPCHSHOE) and Charles David of California brand (item #SAMPCDSHOE) women's sample shoes. The shoes were sold in women's sizes 7 and 9. The item number can be located on the original receipt. 

Consumers should return the shoes to any Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack store for a full refund.

MOSQUITO TRAPS AND BUG MONITORS 

BioSensory Inc. is recalling Dragonfly II Mosquito Traps and NightWatch Bed Bug Monitors sold nationwide in May 2009. Carbon dioxide (CO2) pressure sensors inside these products can crack and leak or burst causing the release of CO2. This could cause cracks with sharp edges that could cut a consumer's hand, or direct CO2 discharge could cause a frostbite-like burn to a consumer's hand. 

The Dragonfly II Model 503 is a cylindrical unit made of metal and plastic with a black, silver and dark graphite finish. The Dragonfly logo, model number, electrical information, Canadian Standards Association (CSA) mark for Canada and the United States (C US), BioSensory street and internet address are engraved on the main housing, on the side opposite the control panel. 

The NightWatch Model 506 is a white molded plastic unit 14 inches long and 6 inches high with a black and white striped thermal lure over the top and sides. The NightWatch model number, electrical information, Canadian Standards Association (CSA) mark for Canada and the United States (C US), BioSensory street and internet address are engraved on the underside of the unit beneath the control panel.

PLAY YARDS

Kolcraft Enterprises Inc. is recalling Kolcraft, Carter's, Sesame Street, Jeep, Contours, Care Bear and Eric Carle Play Yards sold nationwide from January 2000 to January 2009. The play yard's side rail can fail to latch properly and when a child pushes against the rail it can unlatch unexpectedly, posing a fall hazard. 

This recall involves the Kolcraft Travelin' Tot play yards, as well as other similar play yards manufactured for Carter's, Sesame Street, Jeep, Contours, Care Bare and Eric Carle. A complete list of the recalled play yards can be found at www.recalls.org. Model numbers are printed on a white sticker on one of the feet of the play yard.

LAWN TRACTORS 

Husqvarna Consumer Outdoor Products N.A. Inc. is recalling Craftsman Lawn Tractors sold at Sears and Kmart stores nationwide from January 2009 to April 2009. The tractor's parking brake can fail posing a loss of control hazard. 

The recalled Craftsman power lawn tractor is gray colored, has 19.5 HP engine, automatic drive, and a 42 inch cutting deck. The following model and serial numbers are included in the recall. The model and serial numbers are located on a model plate under the tractor's seat.

SMOKE ALARMS 

Walter Kidde Portable Equipment Inc. is recalling Kidde Model PI2000 Dual Sensor Smoke Alarms sold nationwide from August 2008 to May 2009. An electrostatic discharge can damage the unit, causing it not to warn consumers of a fire. 

This recall involves Kidde dual sensor smoke alarms model PI2000. The alarms can be identified by two buttons, "HUSH" and "PUSH AND HOLD TO TEST WEEKLY," which are located on the front/center of the alarm. The model number and date code are on the back of the smoke alarm. Only date codes 2008 Aug.01 through 2009 May 04 are included in this recall.

BOYS' SWEATSHIRTS 

C-Mrk Inc. is recalling Boys' Hooded Sweatshirts sold at Macy's department stores in  Southern California from December 2008 to April 2009. The hooded sweatshirts have a drawstring through the hood which can pose a strangulation hazard. 

The boys' hooded sweatshirts have the brand name Ocean Current and RN#67225 number in the neck label. The garments were sold in the color smoke and in sizes S-XL. 

Consumers should immediately remove the drawstrings from the sweatshirts to eliminate the hazard, or return the garment to either the place of purchase or to C-Mrk at (323) 826-6900 between

CHILDREN'S SWEATSHIRTS 

Hard Tail is recalling girl's hooded jackets and pullover sweatshirts sold nationwide from July 2007 to September 2008. The jackets and pullovers have a drawstring through the hood or waist which can pose a strangulation hazard..

The recalled hooded jackets and pullover sweatshirts have style numbers and RN number 107435 included on the care label found sewn inside on the lower left seam. 

Consumers should immediately remove the drawstrings from the sweatshirts to eliminate the hazard, or return the garment to either the place of purchase or to Hard Tail for a refund.

BOILERS 

Bosch Thermotechnology is recalling Gas-Fired Wall-Hung Boilers sold nationwide from September 2007 to December 2007. An electrical connector can overheat, posing a fire hazard. 

The recalled Buderus GB142 is a gas-fired, wall-hung boiler. The black control drawer in the bottom center of the front of the boiler is marked "Buderus GB 142.". The model numbers included in the recall are 142/24, 142/30, 142/45 and 142/60. Only models with date codes of 7246 through 7256 are included in the recall. The model number and date code are located on a label on the bottom left side of the boiler.

TEA KETTLES

Wilton Industries Inc. is recalling Copco Harmony Tea Kettles sold nationwide from March 2006 to June 2009. The lid on the tea kettle can come loose during handling, posing a burn hazard. 

This recall involves the Copco Harmony tea kettles. The kettles come in stainless steel brushed and polished finishes and enamel finishes in red, white, black, turquoise, orange, yellow and blue.

American Greetings Corp. is recalling DesignWare Sport Balls sold in the U.S. and Canada from August 2004 to April 2009. The surface coating on the basketball contains excessive levels of lead. 

Water

This recall involves DesignWare Sport Balls party favors. The package contains four mini sport balls: a basketball, a football, a baseball and a soccer ball. The model number is SPBL 1821 and is printed on the packaging.
