Agriculture futures trade mixed on the CBOT

[July 14, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures were mixed Monday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

HardwareWheat for September delivery surged 24 cents to $5.4275 a bushel, while September corn climbed 3.5 cents to $3.3175 a bushel and September oats jumped 7 cents to $2.19 a bushel. Soybeans for August delivery sank 26.25 cents to $10.185 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef futures advanced and pork futures traded mixed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

August live cattle rose 1.3 cents to 84.77 cents a pound; August feeder cattle gained 0.88 cent to $1.038 a pound; August lean hogs lost 0.6 cent to 63 cents a pound; and August pork bellies inched up 0.5 cent to 62.5 cents a pound.
