Agriculture trades mixed, livestock prices rise

[July 15, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures were mixed in early trading Tuesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for September delivery slid 3.75 cents to $5.39 a bushel, while September corn added 3.5 cents to $3.3525 a bushel. Soybeans for August delivery were up 0.5 cent to $10.19 a bushel, while September oats were unchanged at $2.19 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef and pork futures mostly traded higher on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

August live cattle rose 0.08 cent to 84.85 cents a pound, while August feeder cattle lost 0.25 cent to 103.55 cents a pound. August lean hogs added 0.85 cent to 63.85 cents a pound, and August pork bellies gained 0.60 cent to 63.10 cents a pound.
