Agriculture futures trade lower on the CBOT

[July 17, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures were lower Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

DonutsWheat for September delivery lost 1.5 cents to $5.3325 a bushel, while September corn dropped 12.75 cents to $3.1675 a bushel and September oats fell 3 cents to $2.145 a bushel. Soybeans for August delivery plunged 44.5 cents to $9.76 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef and pork futures advanced on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

August live cattle edged up 0.68 cent to 85.6 cents a pound; August feeder cattle gained 0.85 cent to $1.039 a pound; August lean hogs rose 1.2 cents to 65.22 cents a pound; and August pork bellies climbed 2 cents to 62.05 cents a pound.
